An interesting article that has been "linked" to by many Clubs message boards over the past couple of weeks.
It also poses the problem as to where the very grey line is drawn regarding slander, libel and freedom of speech, both for the message board moderators and the official webmaster.
I had to close down our official message board last season because of certain comments posted regarding people at the club.
The big problem was that many post under fictitious names from fictitious addresses.....and often use university or school computer systems, making it very hard to track them down.
BUT IT CAN BE DONE .. we did it!

Thanks Rod, I'd just read about the Sheff Wed affair and a similar one at Hereford in WSC....
Do always remember folks that a defence against a charge of libel is "fair comment" ( so my occasional comments about crap referees should be OK ), and to use the magic word "allegedly"!!

Agree with Del about the thin line between personal abuse and the airing of very real concerns about the direction that a club (or the owner of a club) may be heading down.
The non-league scene is littered with examples where people have come in and in effect destroyed the club and taken it away from the fans. If supporters have genuine concerns then, provided that these are aired in a sensible fashion, a forum for speaking up should be available
