It would be good to see some extra support for the Youth Team on Wednesday when they play Sutton Coldfield Town in what should be one of their best home matches of the season.

The yoofs lost 2-1 to a very good Sutton side. I took some pics that I'll post in the gallery at some point

Although it wasn't the greatest of performances last night promise was still shown from the lads in the 2nd half.

I can't really comment on the 1st half as I missed the majority of it!

Unfortunatley some injuries were picked up last night so lets hope for a speedy recovery and we can get back on the winning trail.

I must say a big thank you to the players, Scott, Mr Hook, & the coaching staff who helped with the carrying of the stretcher it was much appreciated.

Hello Glyn, as Steve W said we lost 2-1 in a very tense game for us. We really needed to get the three points last night as we lost at Sutton earlier in the season but the visitors played very well and deserved their win.
I will be posting a match report later this evening.

Thanks folks and forgive me if I should have spotted the result on the Home Page earlier.

We might as well leave the gates open for the ambulance at all home games from now on?

Glyn, with the bad luck with all sorts of injuries that we are having at both first and youth team, I think we must have shot an albatross!

Just posted on main page.. Adam now back home and on his road to recovery.. On a lighter note.. it was rumoured that due to no beds av, Adam spent his time in hospital in the childrens ward, with childrens portions at mealtimes. With his mates supplementing his diet, the thought of my left back receiving his meals on a "Fireman Sam" trolley... just bodes well for his return to the Youth team changing room.... I feel a new nickname coming on!
Seriously, Adam was a very lucky lad to not have received a more serious injury and even though he was not at fault for the accident, I am sure it will have sent a message to a lot of the boys in the youth team who are just starting to drive to be extra careful...

Cheers
Birchy

Hear hear

I presume the choice of meals was fish fingers, turkey twizzlers, pizza or chicken nuggets? That's what some "restaurant" (ha!) chains seem to think is all our young people are capable of eating nowadays....

lard sandwiches never did me any harm....

:D

Good to see AF on the mend, here's to a speedy recovery. There are many nicknames for him Birchy! Do you think we should open a poll?:)

SSP or Stafford Rangers or as many know you as Knob Head:

This is a thread with seriousness to it. If you feel the need to tell us your back open a thread on Knob heads are us messageboard. When we will get round to reading it in about 20 years time or maybe never.

Do you realise that it's Saturday SSP?

:D

Dorinda, you should have suspended him sine die....

(he'd have to ask his Dad what that means, but of course he'd have to find out who he is first....)

(Sorry if that contravenes regs on personal abuse, but there are extenuating circumstances....)

Good to see the SR "fan" has now been banned by a moderator....but is his/her/its posting not also worthy of deletion?

Oh come on, banning him was a bit harsh.

Just came on here to see how you lot got on against Witton Albion. 3 losses on the bounce eh? Would you go bust if you went down?

Did the Youth Team game at Solihull go ahead last night?

Result?

Glyn, Both myself and Terry Mac were not at the game last night, but reports back from the staff informed me that we played well and won the game 2-0. Goals from Jewade Graham and Ben Harbutt. Going into half time at 0-0 after having numerous chances, it could have been "one of those nights". However 2 well taken goals and a good win... We now look forward to a "double header" next week. Chasetown at home on Monday ( worth coming to!) and then Hereford United away on Thursday..

See you soon

Hi Glyn,

Yes it was a good game last night and the players worked hard against a good Solihull side who hit the bar twice in the last 15 or so minutes. They never gave up and stayed strong when Solihull kept coming forward.

Well done lads!

looks like Birchy has other things to occupy him now!!

(see Home Page!)

... and yes guys you will see me at Youth Team games but not until the New Year I'm afraid, one of the bi-products of Jesus being born 2007-ish years ago is that I'm snowed under for the next few weeks....

.... Steve will no doubt update the score from last night on the Home Page when the steam has stopped coming out of his ears (see "Young Team..." thread!!!!)

the repeated postponement of a game against Hereford reminds one of them v Newcastle.... beware any players named Radford and George when the game does eventually take place...
