bit unlucky today, I lost count how many times we hit the woodwork but we were beaten by a class goal the only thing that concerned me was we didn't seem to win a ball in the air at the back but next weeks another game...
oh and it was definately an own goal but can't take it away from Ross

Thought we did more than enough to win - whereas we had a bit of fortune last week, we had none today. Ross Dyer again impressed and is growing in confidence.

All in all an entertaining game and a performance which showed we are moving in the right direction - which we'll need to for next week

How did we lose that game? Seriously, great performance by the lads, deserved a replay at least.

I enjoyed the game today even though we lost it was still good entertainment. I thought that the performance today matched the performance in the Stamford game. We were unlucky hitting the woodwork several times and could have won the game. Wayne Dyer was impressive - his tackling reminds me of Marlon Walters but this guy can tackle without managing to get himself booked. Arnolin also had a good first half.
The Guiseley Manager was clever at half time and they pushed about ten yards further forward in the second half. Consequently the Guiseley midfield players found themselves in more space. Guiseley were also better organised at the back than us.
It was an encouraging performance from Hednesford against a side that will probably finish in a play-off position.

Unlucky to lose as we played well today, can't really fault anything. Our goal was an own goal, but they all count!!
The new signings did enough to keep their prospective starting places, Guiseley aren't in the top 2/3 of our league for nothing. A good test for us, and we came out of it with a fair bit of pride. We played one of the best teams in our league today and shouldn't be disheartened by anything. Keep up this work rate and we should find oursleved battling for a play-off place.
2 hard away games to come, I hope we can stick to our game and build up the points tally.

Cracking game today all the players looked up for it. We were unlucky several claer cut chances first half and the only woodwork missed was the left hand upright..

Well done lads you might go away from today disapointed but with your heads held high. Passion, commitment and skill "we was robbed".

New signings did well , the number 10 (hanah I think) he looks useful ran his legs off never gave up on anything and Brisco looked solid at the back. Arnolin might not be the quickest but ran all over the park and can deliver some decent ball into the box.

Come on Hednesford, keep playing that way and the luck will change for you.

We should have won, you deserved to win.:clap2:

p.s Is their a Jam factory in Guisley because they brought plenty of it with them.;)

Glad that everyone is upbeat about it and quite right too - as I see the team only every 4-6 weeks it's maybe easier for me to spot "growth" rather than seeing it gradually, this was a far better performance than when I last saw the team in action - some good crisp passing, Ross' confidence up front transformed, Wayne Dyer is a super midfielder (never mind comparisons with Marlon, he reminds me of Patrick Vieira!!)....

... and ultimately we lost the game because (at least) 3 good efforts hit woodwork whereas they had 4 chances in all, two good saves by Rene and twice our central defenders were outjumped for headed goals

Guiseley are a professional outfit who knew what to do when they had the lead, we saw then that they too can pass the ball well, prior to which we'd only really learned that they knew how to use their elbows in the certain knowledge that yet another dickhead referee wouldn't see it

Surprised no-one else has yet commented on him (and it isn't just that I have a fetish about officials, everyone on the side could see the man was a prat) - eg fails to look for offside flag when it should be automatic to do so; disallows a goal by us when the keeper simply goes too far under the ball from a cross, not fouled by our man; as usual sees fouls when there are none and vice versa; and then allows the Guiseley physio to come on in the 90th minute to treat a guy who has just walked/run 40 yards into a defensive position thus proving he is quite capable of also walking off the pitch for treatment

I know that without refs there is no game, and I haven't volunteered to do it, but there must be a blind 90-year old man out there somewhere who is free on Saturday afternoons and could do a better job than some of these dorks we get?

disallows a goal by us when the keeper simply goes too far under the ball from a cross, not fouled by our man;

Couldn't agree more, Guiseley got away murder today, ref also missed the definate push in the box (sounds painful) which should have resulted in a penalty.

In saying that all credit to Chris Hanna, he just got on with the game, referee was a disgrace and the goal should have stood, no-one fouled the goalkeeper, linesman was also at fault for those two mistakes.

Anyway can't change it now, best team lost on the day, but Guisely had a lot of help from the ref and lino.

I am sad that we are now out of the Cup competitions because as no one seems to have pointed our it is a missed opportunity to move on to he next rounds which would have provided much needed 'extra revenue'to help the Club.
Never mind-a good winning 'run'might persuade a few more fans to come and watch

not out of them all yet, still have the Unibond League Chairman's Secretary's next-door neighbour's Dog Cup a week tonight, then the Birmingham Senior Cup for teams' junior teams v Wolves (or Wolf Cubs?) later in November....

After the FA Cup & FA Trophy the UniBond League Cup is the only other cup offers a financial reward. Unfortunately after expenses and splitting the gate, (if there is a profit) the games on the way to the final will not make life changing amounts.

The Chairmans and President Clubs are now the League Trophies for the new first divisions. At least we will no longer have to enter those cups if we lose to Ashton next Monday.

With the Wolves game being heavily sponsored I would be very surprised if it was nothing less than our First Team Xl taking to the field.I am also sure a number of our younger players would want to play in a 'shop window' game.
