Chad is, in my view, excellent at delivering a dead ball - he'll probably stick a few in the car park this weekend now I have said that!
The problem is that a year ago the manager didn't sufficiently rate him to want to keep him at HTFC. I understand we have injuries, so what has changed? Is he on loan or is it permanent?

As for the others, I've never heard of any of them - can we have soem information on them when it is available?

The reason that you probley have not heard of the other players the gaffa has signed is because they are from the youth team, as it says on front page. Chad might be a good player this time around, we need more players with the amount of injurys we have got.

Try the drop down menu under Youth and Juniors, or better still come and watch them for a couple of quid!

My point on another thread

http://www.hednesfordtown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=609

about having to get to know a lot of new players is proven!!

Good job we don't operate a squad numbers system, we'd be into the 90s by now?

:p

But yes, some of us are indeed familiar with Jordan Francis et al and it will be interesting to see how many of these new lads will make sufficient impression to be still featuring in a couple of months' time...?

Stalybridges web site says he has signed for them ...another one bites the dust.It looks like PS does not have the ability to keep players at the club.It could be however that the moaning minnies are driving the better players away. Why would you stay and be abused when you can play and be appreciated.
All the best Ashley hope it works out for you.

I've never heard anyone abuse Ashley Wooliscroft.
I'll just re-iterate my previous point.
Why pay a transfer fee for a player and then not put him on contract?

Andy

Ashley was abused as much as anyone during the Buxton game Dave at a time when he was being watched by Stalybridge.I agree though he should not have been allowed to leave that easily.

So whats happened to the 4 or so players what were going to sign last week? Was it just a tatic to keep us moaning supporters quiet or did we actually sign them and they also gone on 7 day notices or what?

No great loss if Wooliscroft has gone, did alot of running about and shouting with very little end product and if He doesn't want to play for us we are better off without him.

Like someone said in a earlier post can we have updates on players injuries.

Sorry about the news being late but i have been working late. I will be putting the facts regarding Ashley Woolliscroft and an update of the injuries on the home news page in a few minutes. I even found out another player cannot stand the heat in the kitchen and has moved on.More to follow on home page

In reply to

Dave Jarvu, Do you not think that the Manager and the MD would want to put a number of players on contract but unfortunately unlike the man at Del Monte our man says no!!!.:tape:

Bod, the injury update is on the home page now.:crutch:

Andy Pipkin, as I have said in another posting the only time I learned anything about the players named was in the E&S article. Briscoe is not switching on his mobile so we can pressume that he does not want to travel down south to play football. Blunt is still a player with Goole and that is all I know about this player, no seven days has gone in for him.:gossip:

Andy, your comment about PS is out of order, read the facts on the home page. PS is doing a great job under difficult circumstances. the players he keeps finding are moving on up to the BSN and unfortunately will continue unless there is an unexpected windfall from somewhere. Phil needs help, do you have a go on the Teambuilder as it helps Phil keep some of the players who otherwise would not be here. It is run by supporters and every penny after paying out prizes is saved to help Phil.

Perton, last season We had Chalkie White as captain and he played in the position where Chad would have played. Phil did and still rates Chad so personnally I hope he grabs his chance with both hands as he has been drifting around since leaving Keys Park and he is better than that. Which BSN club will come in for him?

Thanks Rod for all that and the Home Page update.

Your efforts are appreciated; I don't think you'd get the same level of communication from a Premier League Club (eg one which sacks its manager but forgets to tell its fans...)

Have we actually got enough players to field a starting line-up and a subs bench?!

I must admit it is refreshing to see the 'management'come onto a site and keep the fans informed-well done

Rod, thanks for the reply.
I'm sure that PS would love to put ALL our players on contract but the point I've made until
'I'm blue in the face' (copywrite rod h) is why pay a transfer fee for a player and then not put him on contract?
Say, for arguments sake we paid a grand for Ashley Wooliscoft, he played 8 games for us which works out at £125 per game which we've now got no chance of getting back. If he had been on contract, we could have asked for a fee for him and at least recouped our outlay.
If the bloke had moved to Stalyvegas to further his football career and to play at a higher level then good luck to him but after reading the News Page, this obviously wasn't the case, it was all about money.

Don't underestimate Stalybridge - it's one of the leading venues in the North-West....

Thanks for the positive feedback, in reply to Dave Jarvu;

Hednesford Town FC nor the Teambuilder fund paid any money for Ashley Woolliscroft which can and will be confirmed in end of season accounts.

End of story.

Regarding the last post, is it then inferring that a "benefactor / party of benefactors" actually paid the "undisclosed 4 figure transfer fee" to Kidsgrove Athletic as part of a gesture to support HTFC ?

Hi Rod,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. You seemed to cover nearly everything but I have one more question. Is there any news on when Chris Adam is due to return?

OOPS, Sorry forgot Chris Adams when compiling the list. Chris is hoping to be available for selection against Guiseley. Like Reece he would play today with one leg if he was let. With the type of injury Chris has it is best to keep resting his leg and he will not be selected until he is 100% fit as an early return will only see him breakdown again.

Also Jamie March is hoping to resume to light training in the very near future and is still aiming for a first team return before the end of the season.

In reply to UniBond Fan. see previous posting - end of story,

Hi Rod.Sorry if you thought my post was out of order.I was not having a go at Phil, who I think does a good job,but merely stating a fact .We have got through 50 plus players in two seasons.I was pointing out that our own fans don`t help him to keep players by hurling abuse at the team.I hope some of those who like to come and slag off the team are at Chasetown this afternoon.I know we need the money but I think loyal support will get the club further.
I put my money where my mouth is and follow the team home and away.I have also been in the teambuilder almost since it started.I have brought family and freinds to Keys Park and enjoy watching whoever puts on a Pitmen shirt.A fair weather supporter I am not!!

Isn't it always about money these days mate? You could count the number of squad players loyal to their club on one foot of a 3-toed sloth!! :D

Putting a player on contract means virtually nothing these days too, in fact, it can have the reverse effect.
Last season we signed a guy on a contract who then suffered a re-occurring injury. That lasted for the whole season, but he was on contract so had to be paid in full each week, despite the fact that it was known by 99% he was pulling a flanker.
Another guy was signed on a 3-year deal, unheard of at our club!
Planning for the future was the reason given, yet he became unhappy with the setup (as did many!) and then chose to ask for a transfer.
Obviously that request could have been refused....but is it worth keeping a player who does not want to be at the club and will doubtless not give 100%?
I think not....so the request was granted and he moved on, admittedly for a fee, but not the amount that was expected.

The list goes on with other contracted players too, injuries and despondency affected them but they held the club to the contract...and who could blame them?
The club was legally bound to fulfil its side, but often the players are not.

Perhaps a club needs to be brave enough and sue a player under the Job Descriptions act.
After all, if a player is signed as a "goal-scorer" and then plays for 6 games without scoring........:D

One certainly wonders sometimes how a player has the gall to collect his wages after some performances .. and that happens right up to the England level!!

found this on the leek forum. its a couple of months old. sounds like wooliscrofts got about as much loyalty as a weasel.
