Contrary to my earlier postings, I am now available for updates for the Gateshead game and look forward to supplying a normal service from around 2.45pm.

Glyn
7th-September-2007, 23:45
That's good news Keith, so monitoring those updates can be added to today's multi-tasking list ie listening to cricket/doing some deskwork/watching football/rugby/Last Night of the Proms etc etc etc....

I am pleased Keith, that you are now able to do the updates might get a reasonable result with you doing it rather than Bob C :clap2:

Gone close already, Simms set Knoxy free down right hand side and he whipped in a lovely cross for Forsdick who hammered a first time shot just over the bar when probably better placed to score.

Gateshead 0-0 Hednesford

With you fellas, glorious sunny day out there and I'm stuck in here multi-tasking....

15 mins

Open end to end stuff Gateshead went close with a couple of crosses that flashed across the six yard box and were put out for corners, which didn't result in anything.
At the other end Knoxy tried a spectacular overhead kick which cleared the bar and then a powerful header that went just over.

Gateshead 0-0 Hednesford

After an uneventful 10 mins or so as I was speaking with our correspondent Gateshead broke away and opened the scoring.

Perton Pitman
8th-September-2007, 15:13
Jesus - we are leaking goals left right and centre at the moment. Reckon we should look at bringing someone in if this continues. Have to say that Gilmartin is not in YOungy's class in my opinion

How come the new work experience defender is not playing from Sheffield Utd?

Hallo
8th-September-2007, 15:19
I'd say he's a Leek fan, my problem is; why is he worried about our scores when he should be worried about the fact they haven't even got a manager.

Dobba
8th-September-2007, 15:21
Is that a bad thing Hallo? The one they did have played Darren Alexander just infront of the defence!

Unibond Fan
8th-September-2007, 15:21
After today's match will HTFC have one?

Bob C
8th-September-2007, 15:21
He is having a go Hallo, we don't need it

Tom(LTFC)
8th-September-2007, 15:23
That's a bit harsh it's not my fault he is seriously ill and has had to pack in football altogether. I think any manager in his position would do the same. You should be ashamed of yourself you yam yam

I understand that but all these "fans" slating the team after losing a few games, yes conceding as many as we have is always bad, but bloody hell talk about blowing things out of proportion.

maximus
8th-September-2007, 16:00
six goals conceded and I suppose PS will blame the attack again! he has to address the defencive frailties and soon. can't understand why he put Dyer in midfield again surely he has to play up front. That's ten goals conceded in three games., we cannot operate with philosophy that however many the opposition score we will get one more !! We simply have to stop the opposition scoring.

Perton Pitman
8th-September-2007, 16:00
After today there will be a real crisis of confidence. Unless we get something on Monday we can start looking nervously over our shoulders. Momentum is everything in sport and at the moment we have none at all.

We'll see what PS and the lads are made of on Monday

Dobba
8th-September-2007, 16:02
Ukraine are currently winning 1-0

Every cloud and all that.

That was unlucky guys. You came to us and we're now on a 17 game unbeaten run. We won 5-2 midweek and knew (or at least thought) this would be harder. Have faith in Starbuck as he's a good manager. Keep your spirits up guys, you can make the play-offs.

8th-September-2007, 17:05
Wonder why PS felt the need to tinker with the side after it was reported we were the best side the ref had seen this season after the Ashton game.
Dyer is a striker.we are short in midfield and defence and those matters need addressing.......quickly.
As Perton Pitman says,we need to get some confidence back.Lets start Monday.

abacus
8th-September-2007, 20:02
The manager does have the say of course but it is perplexing as to why players who seem to obviously fit in a position are played else where.Knox and Dyer up front given a run together would be a start.Sorting out the defence which is no where near as tight as I would have expected is absolute priority after three defeats. Perhaps Gateshead on their unbeaten run may not have been a game to expect too much from but the next two are certainly matches we have to expect to win.

Alan Percival
8th-September-2007, 20:27

8th-September-2007, 21:34
Abacus your comments about the defence are right.Tough decisions have to be made by PS and leave players out whoever they are and be prepared to get the right players in if he thinks we need them.

Bod
9th-September-2007, 10:34
some interesting options....not ?

Glyn
9th-September-2007, 12:40
Seems no-one who was actually at the game yesterday wants to talk about it...?

I think I can understand that.

Hopefully the fact that we have another game so soon to get it out of our system will be a benefit.

Bod
9th-September-2007, 13:40
if it was anything like Northwich,it's too painful to talk about
england's win took the edge of it a little,if they had lost i think i might have started watching golf :o

Glyn
9th-September-2007, 13:42
It can't have been anything like as bad as Northwich Bod, at least we were still in it at HT yesterday......
