It seems that the Bucks' manager is banned from the dugout for 6 games (his appeal has been rejected recently) following an altercation with the 'lino' in a match vs Hednesford. Is this going back to the game on New Year's Day and the fallout from Darren Alexander's sending off?

Probably that and taking other previous behaviour into account.Despite being sent off to the stands it took further intervention to remove him from players entrance and even then he was hanging over wall of stand shouting instructions before finally moving to directors area where he wound up fans who were prepared to be taken in- more entertaining than the game by that point.

The ban is due to the Hednesford incident, and although six matches seems extreme I think this is due to the cumulative effect of several incidents over the last few years. He was actually banned for six matches at the start of last season for an incident relating to his time at Willenhall.
Whilst Smith is no angel and without wanting to reopen the debate about what went on that day, you do have to wonder why this matter has only been resolved now, some seven months after the actual incident? If I was a supporter of one of our promotion rivals I think I would have preferred him to have served his suspension during the latter half of last season, rather than at the start of the next one once promotion has been secured. It's all irrelevant now but you do wonder why the wheels turn so slowly at the FA?
