second half performance was a lot better,McPherson and Naginton looked usefull,and I was impressed with Meakin-Richards he would have a first team shirt for me,Jamie Birch don't think he will make it the rest I'm not to sure about yet still a long way to go :)

Bit disappointing then. Can we play the Villa every week? Is the result Leek 7 Accrington 1 accurate?? If so perhaps we should go back and have another look.

It was Accrington's youth team for the record. The first team were playing Prescot at the same time.

The weather was not only playing havoc with Fozzie's internet connection it also messed up Phil's team selection as Simon Forsdick was unable to get out of his home town of Leamington because of the floods. he is moving soon to Stratford upon Avon and looking at the TV pictures it looks as if he is jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

forgot to mention a young Starbuck came on by the name of Daniel ( I Think),
he did quite well,perhaps a future star :)

Fozzie's not the only one who's had internet connection problems, I'm just back on after 56 hours without (and steaming that I also missed the golf and yesterday's cricket highlights as my tv and phone were down as well, though I've been to Worcs to see the after-effects of the flooding and realise there are plenty worse off....)

It was a euphemism for Fozzie to quote me as saying that we "weren't playing very well"!!

The following players impressed me to a greater or lesser degree:

Rene (certainly very vocal, actually can't remember him having many saves to make, not much chance with either goal), should do well for us;

KMR plenty of energy and enthusiasm, though Ross Adams' experience showed when he replaced him

Masha - to coin a mate's phrase, "does what it says on the tin", hopefully as he gains more experience some of the rough edges on his game will be rectified

Robinson made a few mistakes but I can see why we signed him

Styche full of energy as usual, thankless task playing up front on his own and neither Dyer nor Birch gave him much support from out wide

Naginton did well for the few minutes he was on; Hebberd and Brown ditto

The less said about the rest the better.

MikeM would have been encouraged to stand near Jimmy Mullen: "pass pass pass pass pass pass", seems that if the players can put his plans into action we may see some more entertaining football this season - though doing what he exhorted seemed beyond some of them

:doh:
