Yes Glyn I have been to Alsager twice before. I was at university in Stoke and that was when I went to Alsager, both times they played Newcastle Town.
Alsager is a little village just inside the Cheshire border, the ground is hidden away a little but there are signs to the ground so you should be alright finding it. Once you go through the turnstile you have to walk down a slope to get to the pitch. The ground is what you would expect, a small stand with a couple of rows of seats in on one side of the ground, and a covered standing area opposite, with nothing behind either goal.
Not sure whether they will be in voice on Saturday as it is only a friendly, but "The Bullets" have a very small but very loud hardcore following. I saw them lose 4-0 at home to Newcastle Town and the home fans still never stopped singing throughout the game. They are a credit to a lovely, friendly little football club.

The website says their Offical Fan Club is called the "Far Side Ultras", just a tad concerning!!
:D
Didn't know there was a University in Stoke Lee....

I think this group of vocal supporters go by that name as well - nothing to worry about Glyn.

Glad that some kind soul has pointed out on the Home Page that it's a 2.30ko, I'd have been a tad miffed if I'd wandered in at 2.50 and wondered why there were 22 players on the pitch......
Seems we will be on despite the deluge, could we have a post on here please by 11am if that changes??

Morning Glyn
First, I have to get over the shock that you had not noticied on the home page forthcoming matches advert on the right of the page that the kick off was 2.30pm. It has been on there for weeks.
Secondly, the game is on.The groundsman was at the ground at 10.30am and has not rung the Secretary to give any bad news. Apparently there is a brook running ajacent to the ground and the pitch drains into there. So it seems like Bromsgrove the other year when it seemed the end of the world was coming that game went ahead. If this is the taste of summers to come we will have to ensure Alsager and Bromsgrove are on our pre season friendly list. Hope we take a few today as I am sure the home club would appreciate the extra revenue through the gate and if we perform like Thurday evening the journey will be well worth the trouble.
Safe journey everyone.

See, I'm only human!!

Nice little set-up, (sorry if that sounds too condescending!), weird arrangement whereby the social club is at a higher level than the pitch so it was only when I nipped up there at HT that I discovered there were around 3 times as many people inside the ground perimeter as were actually watching the game from the pitch surrounds!!
Gave the PA guy the shock of his life when I tapped him on the shoulder to beg a look at the team-sheet so I could text the team to Fozzie, then again if he hadn't had the system turned up SO LOUD he might have noticed me behind him
After our ruminations over what songs/tunes we should play pre-match I did chuckle when the first one I heard was "I predict a riot"
