View Full Version : The Great HTFC Music Vote [Part 2]

Some great suggestions over the past 7 days. I don't think many people will have the patience to sit through 30 or so songs before voting so I've narrowed them down to six. However if you feel particularly aggrieved that your suggestion isn't in the vote then let me know and I will add it. I'm intending to download all of the suggestions anyway and give them to John for pre-match / half time music.

You can listen to the 6 nominated songs on an on-site MP3 player HERE. (http://www.hednesfordtown.com/index.php?categoryid=44)

Even if you have an immediate favourite please listen to them all before voting, at least the first couple of minutes.

You can vote which of the 6 nominated songs you want the teams to run out to in the Polling Station section. You have to be logged into the forum to vote. You can vote for more than one song if you want to but will only be allowed to vote once.

The poll closes in 7 days.

Thanks

They are just standard mp3 files. Windows Media Player should open up and play them automatically when clicked on unless you've set something else as your default player.

Not being a computer buff,I can't get it to play either and having checked I think Media player is loaded but will have to wait for the younger generation to arrive to check for me.Only one on the list for me though - ELP.

I thought that was fine aswell but despite much searching I couldn't find an mp3 file of it to download. If anyone has one then send it to me and I'll add it. I didn't think it was fair to add it to the vote as the only track not in the player.

As for people who can't get the player to work it's very difficult for me to advise you without access to your system. You may not have the right components installed to use the Flash Player (although standard Windows updates should ensure that you have) or for some reason you may not have any software configured to play mp3 as default or could be something else, I really don't know. You'll just have to google the tracks and download/listen to them yourself... sorry.

As well as the fact I too cannot get anything through the MP3 link (get through the link itself but the "MP3 Player" bit has no link).

Tom Hark was certainly the most football orientated song "When I was young, and had no sense..." etc.

Look on Limwire Steve and you will find a few hundred MP3 files for it!!!!!!!

If there is someone who can tell us poor souls who cannot access the MP3 player what the 6 songs are it would be greatly appriecated?

Ive looked several times on LimeWire in the past 48 hours Gary. There weren't a few hundred MP3 files for it!!!!!!! There were none at all.

Like I say, if you've got it / can get it then send it to me.

Several people say they cannot use the MP3 player... I take it that it works for MOST people and they obviously don't bother mentioning that?? I hope so anyway.

Sorry Steve, I'm not up with all this MP3 stuff, I just remembered downloading my CD tracks from that particular site but obviously not an MP3.
To just remind people what the tune is they can go to :

Okay I am trying my best to enable everyone to listen to these songs. There are two extra alternatives for you now....

1. Under the MP3 player is a file download area. Click on the Download link for whatever song you want and it should automatically open up whatever software you have configured to play mp3 and play the song. You should also achieve this by clicking the links below Alternatively......

2. Open Windows Media Player. Click 'File' then 'Open URL'
In the address box that opens you need to cut and paste the following address (right click on the link as they have been shortened, select properties and copy the full address):

For ELP:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track1.mp3

For Fatboy Slim:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track2.mp3

For Harry J:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track3.mp3

For Kasabian:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track4.mp3

For Republica:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track7.mp3

For Van Halen:
http://www.hednesfordtown.com/plugins/p13_download_manager/ftpfiles/track6.mp3

Hope that helps those that haven't been able to use the onsite player.

Try a search on i-tunes if you have it at least you'll be able to hear a snippet of tracks.

I couldn't get them through the plugin either.

I've unashamedly nicked Steve's idea for the TNS forum and someone suggested this (ignore the hockey players!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCrlTtFsvFM

Always have my bright ideas when it's too late...!

talkSPORT are using an extract from "Alive and kicking" (Simple Minds) to trail their Prem coverage this coming season; they've also unearthed the theme tune from "Sportsnight with Coleman"!

And the first of those prompted me to think I should have suggested "Beautiful Day" U2....

ah, well....

I've done exactly the same, although i reckon this tune could really intimidate the opponents, although listening to it they opposition may either think that:
1. they are going into battle
2. or they are going to meet their maker.

Anyway you may recognise it from a famous western film; Buono, il brutto, il cattivo.
Listen here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdNh9f2Wwm0)

Another I suppose is Iggy and the Stooges, although the name/lyrics aren't the best; I wanna be a dog. Listen Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjmLsSs0xDY&mode=related&search=)
