Darren agreed to re-sign for the Pitmen but the lure of a contract persuaded him to move down the football pyramid. As a full time student he needs security of income and as a non contract player he could find himself without any money if not in the team.
After the long lay off due to his sending off against AFC Telford he did not perform as well as he did before Christmas so with less travelling and more time to study it is not surprising that he has moved on. It is really the same reason that Phil Hadland moved on, with full time studying the travelling became a problem.
I would like to thank Darren for his services for the Pitmen and wish him well in with his new club.

Hear hear, I was impressed with Darren, and bear in mind that some prat of a referee afflicted/affected his season with that sending off v Bucks
I'm sure he'll score plenty of goals.

Probably a good move for both player and club. With goalscoring record of three of the new players in mind Darren despite his best efforts would be unlikely to be ahead of those players.I would also agree he is likely to bag loads of goals at that level.

Great player really should of being given the chance to prove himself, great when playing also great when he did score. I hope he manages to fulfill the his full potential. All the best Darren:doh::clap2:

He had 45 chances last season but the return was there to see in way of number of goals. No doubting effort but we finished where we did because of lack of goals and that hopefully is being resolved with the new players.
