Wouldn't surprise me. Another 'ambitious' move sideways for a player that likes to go where the money is. Can't blame him for that though, we'd all do the same probably but it doesn't exactly endear you to supporters does it.

Surely he has moved due to ambition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Money would never come into it..........not.You only have to remember when he left us for the "Paradise Stadium" in Redditch, where would you rather play your football, there or Keys Park?
Still,good luck to him.

I don't think moving from Redditch from Telford is a move sideways! It may be because they are in the same league next season, but the difference in the potential of those clubs is massive. Redditch have scraped relegation for the last two seasons by the skin of their teeth and Telford are only going to keep rising.
I wish the best to our former players wherever they go, especially someone like Carl who put 200% into his time at HTFC.

Indeed he has signed for Nuneaton.

Apparently Nuneaton's financial offer far outweighed our own and he has gone for the money, see here http://www.shropshirestar.co.uk/2007/06/money-talks-as-bucks-miss-out/

Further evidence that our budget is not that great, contrary to popular belief! ;)

I think it says more about Carl Palmer than it does about Telfords budget.

Nobody said Telford had a huge wage budget, just that Telford had a huge wage budget compared to other UniBond League clubs last season.

Obviously the higher you go the less of an advantage you will have BB until the club reaches its natural level. That may be Conf North or may be higher but you WILL reach it and at that point your gates will fall off. That's the general experience of 'AFC Clubs'. Probably more of a problem for you than other clubs as you are more dependent upon gate receipts than those with their own function / bar facilities.

Good luck up there anyway, even without Carl Palmer and hopefully we'll join you soon.

Seems like they are replicating Painter's strategy of a few years ago except in reverse. Let's hope it is as equally effective!

I would say that the signings of Palmer and McPherson are more to do with Brinner than any influence Mr Bull may have, I 'd be suprised if he's even heard of them let alone seen 'em play.
Have to say though they're both decent signings on paper. The problems being that McPherson has played all his football in the Unibond Prem or below while Palmers injury prone last 3 seasons make you wonder if he'll ever be the same player we saw.

They've signed another ex-pitman, Nick Amos:

Don't think he played many games for us back in the conference days.
