Assistant in the Prem hasn't got much glamour. Manager in the Northern Prem is better. Come on Nobby do us a favour, we did you one. :D
LOL
I was only saying yesterday (in the context of someone whose appointment in that role at a Midlands League One club just might be confirmed in the near future) that Assistant Manager with any League club is a cracking job to get, the gaffer carries the can when things go wrong, but you get a decent salary and an enjoyable job.
Likewise I recall when Kenny Jackett got the push from Swansea he ended up as Reserve Team Manager at Man City. Nice work....
(Current or past Assistant Managers at HTFC might care to argue it's not quite the same at ths level...)
And I also recall Brian McClair when a coach at Man Ure being asked what his duties entailed, responding, "... mainly putting the cones out..."

Might Brian McClair who interrupted a university degree to sign pro with Celtic have been attempting a little irony?
I think so Mike.
Hence my
