Squads looking abit healthier now.. MacPhearson and Willis look to be good signings which will leave the midfield looking stronger, especially if we keep can keep Hadland on the wing.

Defence will remain unchanged from last year if we keep Screaton and if we could sign Henshaw again we will be looking at one of the strongest defences in the league.

Only Alexander and Dyer upfront and I think this needs changing abit with at least 2 new signings, hopefully we can also keep Danny Bacon.

With regards for a goalkeeper, if the defence show the form they did earlier in the year, would it really matter whos in goal?

So how many new signings do we need? Injuries last year proved our falling point and with a smaller squad quality will count. I think we need to sign 2 more strikers, and 2 midfielders then i think we will have the base of the squad ready for next season.

With regard to assistant manager it would be good to see someone more experienced than a player stepping up.

Anyone have any news on Mario or Danny Bacon?

... a lot depends on what Rammers intends to do. It seems he is starting the process of trying to prise a few of our lads away. I am disappointed to see Jenkins leaving us as I think he will do OK at this level next season.
We definitely need a goalscorer otherwise we will be destined to finish around 8th again.

Having looked on the Telford board they seem to think that Jai Stanley and Fitzo could be on their way out. If those two don't scream QUALITY then I'm a golfer.:lie: If Chalky goes then we definately need the more experienced players in the squad as of our current retained list our oldest players is about 26? If we could get one of those two and keep Pedro and Hadland our midfield could well be very dangerous at this level.
On other signings:
Goalkeeper:
Brock? The lad released from Notts County?
Defenders:
Screaton to sign, a new defender and hopefully Henshaw.
Midfielders:
Hadland & Pedro to sign, Fitzo, Stanley?
Strikers
Bacon to sign and a new poacher although Styche could bag a few this season.

Both Henshaw and Screaton can cover the defensive midfielder duties and If one of our two wingers get injured Bacon & Dyer can also drop back and play there. If there isn't another position backed up then we can just stick Alexander there, in fact Alexander for Assistant Managers post as he can do everthing else:p

Some good players released by us of those not mentioned, Ben Twigger a right sided midfield player is perhaps the best of those. He has good quality and alot of potential and ought to be playing at a bigger club than the likes of Rushall & Bedworth who he has played for previously - I'm not even sure we lost a game when he played and he must have played around 30 games for us.

Lee Chilton is also a promising youngster and has been extremely impressive in reserve games also scored a hatrick against a strong Bangor team in a friendly I would imagine both of these players would be good signings for you.

Cheers, Stanley has also been released, quite surpirsed by that. Although he didn't have a good season for you, when we was in the conference north he was only about 50% fit and caused the strangers some problems for us. Would like to see him in a Hednesford shirt again. With him in the middle and Pedro and Hadland on the wings then either a poacher or big lad for headers will surely be needed (if any of those sign that is:D)

Says were due a major signing and a goalkeeper within the next week...

Not really bothered bout Jenkins or Chalky going, there are better players that can fill there positions.

Macpherson at Leek for eight seasons.Scored 5 league and 4 cup goals last season. If midfield have players capable of contributing good number of goals and we sign striker capable of 20+ and/or our current strikeforce improve their own strike rate along with a varied style of play then the team at this level seems to be shaping up.Also thanks for providing news of these signings first on this site

Believe Jai has given up football completely, having not hit the heights at Telford due to injury at Worcester.. I did think CN could be more suited to creativity in the midfield but unfortunately also don't feel he is best suited to our 3 man midefield...

Twigs, Beale and Perrow might be ones worth thinking about for you, maybe Chilton if he gets his head right.

Think your goalkeeper could be Brock but you may need to pay a fee, that could be a feature of his release from current club..

Oh and Brindley for assistant manager - was he at Rushall last season? If so he had a few of the Telford lads on loan there and got a fair bit out of them, the likes of Barnett, Perrow and Beale!.. Anyway :)

Would love to see Brinner back at the club, but can't see it happening.

I saw Perrow play a couple of times last season, although he scores goals I thought he was very ball greedy and didn’t really contribute much apart from his goals. I was disappointed with him really as I had heard so much about him in reports I had read.

I will be disappointed if Jai has finished playing footie as I always like him as a footballer, hopefully if he hasn't finished then we could come and get him to play for us. :clap2:

Peter Knox's record over the past couple of years speaks for itself. Let's hope we can give him the service he needs to carry that on with us:clap2:

Hi Terry
If he is in the Mickey Norbury mould will any body tackle him

Too right Fozzie, he certainly looks as though he is a 'handful', hopefully his disciplinary record is a bit better than 'Norbs' so that he will at least be available for selection!
Anyway, with all these 'comings and goings' I am looking forward to the new season already! Bring it on!:clap2::clap2::clap2:

If I was Mark I'd say 'please' when I ask him to join the teambuilder wouldn't you Terry?

I certainly would Keith!

Mind you, joking apart, 40 goals in 54 outings is a phenomenal return, at any level. I am looking forward to seeing 'Knoxy' as a Pitman!

Knox scored 111 in 195 games so it looks like we have our 20+ goalscorer which last season would have put us back on track. With the defence being as mean as last time the expectations grow and it's only close season

I will watch with interest to see how Willis gets on at Keys Park.

He was much heralded by Rob Smith when we signed him and he burst onto the scene in stunning style with a thirty-yard free-kick after four minutes of hs debut against Leek, but to be honest I will always remember Willis as something of an enigma, someone who runs around a lot and huffs and puffs without making much of a telling impact. The fact he has had so many clubs at such a young age seems to point to the fact that he has bags of potential but rarely gets going; I really hope Hednesford is a club where he finally produces the goods.
