I went to the Stourbridge game - had it been mid-season it wouldn't have started as there were pools of water in the middle of the pitch. Conditions got worse, the ref inspected the pitch at half time again, but I think he took the attitude that the game had to played to a conclusion.

Apart from the first ten minutes of the second half, Sutton created very little and Stourbridge looked a big, well organised, determined outfit and were good value for the win.

Now that sounds like common sense to me (and concurs with what a local pal of mine who was there has said) - but I wonder whether Sutton Coldfield agree....??

:rolleyes::doh:

I was at Witton when they caved in to Telford in last season's play-off final, seems they're determined not to go up?!

My mate's pix here from Stourbridge last night, respectively at the start of the game and just before half-time

Clearly the ref didn't want to pack it in and go watch MU v Barca on the telly, like the guy at Halesowen must have done!!

The Leamington v Rushall game was very wet but the The New Windmill Ground drains well. I got soaked. Big game against Stourbridge on Saturday who have beaten us 3 times so far this season:mad:
I notice Tony Kempster has Hednesford back in the Southern League next uear:rolleyes::tape:

I do have a tendency to be sarcastic, so let's just say, yes, we'd noticed that....

:D

Telford 0-2 at Barrow last night, shame....

This from my pal Simon:

It wasn't a good game, but there was a good finish.

Chippenham went 1-0 up midway through the second half (The goal should have been ruled out for a foul on a Yeltz defender)
Two minutes later Halesowen were denied a penalty for deliberate handball (The idiot linesman gave the free-kick to Chippenham) Then a minute later Halesowen were given a penalty and a Chippenham defender got a straight red for a foul.
Halesowen won the game with a chip which went in of the upright from Eldon Maquemba

Halesowen are now away to Team Bath in the final on Saturday

Good to see the top officials are being allocated to such crucial games....

Report here from the nonleaguelive site which is (perhaps quite rightly) blowing its own trumpet on another thread

Stalybridge beat Southport on pens, so they and Barrow can trek down to Burton on Friday night.... a bit like the Champions League, it might have made more sense to see who was in the final before deciding the venue?

Is Yogi still at Stalybridge? If so, I'm sure he won't mind travelling home from Burton!

Torquay for Wembley then!!

(but only in the FA Trophy Final....)

If you're going to blow it, do so big time against your arch-rivals in front of your own fans....

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, what is it that it is....

The Conference South play off has been switched. It was supposed to be at Broadhall Way, but is now beeing played at Stonebridge Road. Not too sure of the reason.

My heart bleeds....

... but no, actually I'd far rather have seen the Brewers go up than any of the other three, they've all had a go already....

So....

Exeter or Cambridge??

I reckon it will be Exeter this time...but then again, Cambridge may just sneak it! :D

Pleased to see from the schedule of pre-season games that there is a trip to Leamington after all

Meanwhile

Alty may yet be reprieved from relegation, and Tony Kempster may have to get his spreadsheet out again....

I normally do a pretty good job of it myself but the Conference is making me look stupid now !! That play off was switched back to Stevenage on Tuesday after they managed to sort out "some issues" with the ground.

Eatbourne's coach broke down tonight, so the players had to drive instead and most turned up at the ground that late, all they did was get changed and ran out to warm up. Some preperation that is!

I will be routing for Hampton though as their Manager is a West Ham hero of mine - Alan Devonshire.

Funny, the Hampton and Richmond chairman was on talkSPORT yesterday and said the game was at Stevenage, I thought "flippin eck, no-one's told him it's been switched!" - good job I didn't fire off one of my emails!!

Sorry Jon, "hero" and "West Ham" haven't belonged in the same sentence since 1966

:D

Elder Van Van Looper

But that was before my time!

I would never have seen any of the 1966 lot play. Everybody has their own hero's.

Tough?

It doesn't bother me.

As I was watching the game on TV, I chose them to cheer on.

Same reason I will be cheering Stalybridge tonight! Oh no, thats because a Hednesford Hero is their Manager. :clap2:
