If you do not receive your email confirmation after registering...

You may have a spam blocker filtering your mail which is marking forum mail as spam
It may have been blocked by your ISP mistakenly as spam
You may have entered your email address incorrectly

Email me your user name to admin-at-hednesfordtown.com from the email address that you registered with and I will re-send the activation email to you. You need to adjust whatever spam blocking software you have installed first or switch it off altogether as it's being a little over zealous.

As a last resort I can activate your account manually but I'm reluctant to do that as you may not be getting automated emails from the message board in the future which may be important or from other users

Thanks

Here are the commonest problems that people have encountered so far using the message board together with the fixes.....

I've not received my confirmation email: this is usually sent instantly but on some occasions it has been known to take up to two hours. I'm not sure why. A further email is sent out after 24 hours or so if you haven't confirmed your account.
If you don't receive this email then it's been blocked as spam. Check your trash folder in case it has been routed into there. This happens regularly especially with Yahoo and AOL mail accounts it seems. Check your anti-virus settings for incoming mail. Norton Anti-Virus is the usual culprit here, it seems to block traffic at random. Disable it or better still uninstall it altogether and get McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com/uk/default.asp) or AVG (http://www.avguk.com/) instead.
When all else fails email me your user name (http://www.hednesfordtown.com/index.php?categoryid=42) and I will take a look.

I'm shown as logged in but I still cannot post: log out and then log back in again but make sure the 'remember me' box is checked. This will set a cookie on your computer and makes sure you are recognised as a registered user.

I want to change my user name: you can't do that yourself. Email me your user name (http://www.hednesfordtown.com/index.php?categoryid=42) and the new user name you want and I will change it for you.
