An old chestnut I know, but is the club going to relent on the matter of admission prices for under 16s??
With no local derbies and limited numbers of away supporters attending games at Keys Park - we'll be lucky to get more than 70-80 from away teams - we have the prospect of sub-500 gates at the vast majority of home games next season.
If the club charged kids a quid to get in at least this may increase attendances and also foster goodwill between the club and fans. We would also be in line with many clubs at this level.:violin:

This was addressed at the last Commitee meeting.
Admission prices are unchanged for next season. It's a decision that has been made by the Chairman, he controls the purse strings so he has the final say. Apparently it isn't open for discussion so it just has to be accepted.

Absolutely agree. As I said on old message board what is there to lose?I wouldn't expect official comment on all matters raised but this is an important issue

Obviously my post referred to prior message.Unfortunate decision as Telford can show the benefits. An example of news not being on messageboard earlier? All the more reason to play better quality, on the ground football. Perhaps encourage more in, on back of winning team and better FA Cup and Trophy run?

Chariman's perogative I guess, but still a shame. Looks like the only way of getting more younger people through the gates (they are fickle after all) is to play attractive winning football.
We gave 5000 tickets away per game at the end of last season for free and they still did not come so how will a charge of £1-00 make any difference.
Remember the club then has to pay VAT from that so there is little financial benefit. With over 2000 per game at AFC they can afford to give a few sweetners but with our average gate well under 50% of that figure we are not in a position to give things away.
The club have repeatably requested if you know a wealthy business person who can come and give Steve Price some assistance please point him/her in Terry Brumpton's direction.
Only success on the pitch will increase gates and we all look forward for those days to return.

Better results and better quality football if sustained will undoubtedly always increase attendances and last season despite the first half of the season didn't match both requirements.Giving away free tickets presumably was on basis of certain matches to certain outlets and not to a consistent pattern which kids for a quid would be.The approach is different in that you allow anyone interested within chosen age group to go to matches knowing they can be admitted consistently for same price. The benefits presumably would be larger crowds better atmosphere some younger ones would bring adults and possibly those youngsters staying with club. Also FA Cup and Trophy games are subject to minimum charge and a return is made there.I am not privy to the figures and whether the possible scheme has been costed and possible sponsors say McDonalds and others commercial partners factored in then I still believe it could work.Saturday morning cinema club £1 per child adult free ;Happy Meal prices at Mcdonalds and other examples show what the idea is all about.
