Thanks Del, John Challis alluded to RLP's Shakespearean acting in his tribute on Five Live this morning, though sadly I had to stop listening after he'd said "I'd sort of heard a sort of rumour..."Del wrote:Here you go Glyn - the more serious side of RogerGlyn wrote:But RIP anyway, I'm sure he was a very nice man

Pretty inadequate tribute here from the BBC

Re: RIP
RIP Stan Crowther, a FA Cup-winner with Villa in 1957, one of those who then joined Manchester United after the Munich disaster, and I saw him play for his penultimate club
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_Crowther_(footballer)
And it's good to see that Manchester United acknowledge his passing
http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Featu ... -away.aspx
Hadn't realised he'd retired so young - if that "at the age of 27" is correct then he must have been with us 1961/2?
Amazed I can remember that far back!

Actor Francis Matthews, who was the voice of Captain Scarlet in Gerry Anderson's 1960s TV show, has died at the age of 86.
Not quite indestructible then……..

I've heard it twice now and yes, Sir Alex Ferguson's tribute to di Stefano on Five Live definitely includes "Madonna" among his list of all-time great footballersGlyn wrote:RIP Alfredo di Stefano - truly a great footballer, unlike so many mediocre ones who are nowadays wrongly dubbed thus
